Hey

This pattern is a traditional Icelandic Wool sweater style I’m calling Hey, it means hay in Icelandic. I always have such a hard time finding names for my patterns and I choose Hey because I found so much hay in the wool while I was knitting the original sweater and thought that would be a good name for it!

The sweater is knitted from the bottom up in the round.

Sizes (XXS) XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL

Body width – Body length – Sleeve length – Sleeve width

Yarn: Léttlopi from Istex, Plötulopi from Istex would also be great. If you don’t have access to either then choose a similar yarn that fits the gauge.

Yarn: Istex Léttlopi – 50g skein – 100 m

Colour A   Lagoon 9423 XXS(6)  XS(6), S(7), M(8), L(9), XL(10), XXL(10), 3XL(11), 4XL(12) 5XL(12)

Colour B  Black 0059 XXS (1) XS(1), S(1), M(2), L(2), XL(2), XXL(2), 3XL(3), 4XL(3), 5XL(3)

Colour C   White 0051 XXS(1) XS(1), S(1), M(1), L(1), XL(1), XXL(1), 3XL(1), 4XL(1), 5XL(1)

Gauge
10x10cm = 18 sts and 26 rows on 5mm needles.

Circular needles: 4mm and 5mm, 40 and 60/80 cm (depending on your size)

Double-pointed needles: 4mm and 5mm

NOTE: I knit quite tightly so you may need to use 4,5mm or even 4mm I recommend knitting a swatch to test the tension.

This pattern has slim fit and a shorter body length, if you prefer a wider fit you should consider sizing up and/or adding a few cm in the body.
