Ægishjálmur
Description
Ægishjálmur pattern is a simple design of a traditional Icelandic wool sweater. Vegvísir is my most popular pattern and I wanted to make a pattern with Ægishjálmur as well. Ægishjálmur lopapeysa is inspired by the old Icelandic magical stave, Helm of Awe,” in English and is a symbol of courage, protection, and strength.

Ægishjálmur sweater is knitted from the bottom up in the round, if you are used to knitting top down, the pattern is easy to follow the other way around.
